He was a member of the Fatah political party, the Palestinian Liberation Organization, and a senior minister in the Palestinian Authority. He was the first Palestinian to be extradited from the United States to Israel, where he served time in prison for his role in a bombing against Israeli civilians. He died from after inhaling tear gas and being shoved and struck in the chest following an altercation with Israeli soldiers during a Palestinian protest in Turmus Ayya == Biography == Abu Ein first served time in an Israeli prison at 18, before fleeing to the United States. He was then extradited from the United States back to Israel, where he was sentenced for planting a bomb in 1979 in Tiberias which killed two Israeli youths.
